Insurance & Payment Options

What to Expect

Prior to visiting our office, our team will review any known eligible routine vision benefits and medical insurance coverage. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted promptly and given instructions and forms needed to be completed so that our optometrist may see you.

Our entire team works together to evaluate your eyes and give relevant eye care treatment and eye wear information, review your benefits and payment options, and fit you for eyewear or evaluate contact lenses best suited for your lifestyle needs. If at any time you have questions about the process or your specific health information, please ask. We will explain more information and discuss next steps with you.

Flex Spending & Health Savings Accounts

Don’t forget to use your:

  • Flexible Spending Plans

  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

These plans can be used for all your eye care and eyewear needs, including eyeglasses, contact lenses, routine office visits and medical office visits.

Medical Insurance and Vision Plans

We accept the majority of major medical insurance and vision discount plans.

Coverage varies widely. The same company’s plan may have several different reimbursement levels and programs for their customers. Before your visit, our staff must verify eligibility and can explain your coverage. There is no charge to you for this service.

At Coastal Woods Vision, we strive to provide the highest quality, personalized eye care. Certain vision and medical plans have implemented policies that would force us to provide less quality at a higher cost. Therefore, our practice remains an out-of-network provider for some routine vision plans.

Good News!

  • Most of our patients will continue to be unaffected by this status as their ocular conditions or complaints are medical in nature, such as cataracts, headaches, floaters, dry eye or even diabetes. This means that the examination is required to be submitted to their major medical insurance.

  • We still offer a prompt pay discount off eyeglass frames and lenses.

  • We will submit the out-of-network vision claim for you shortly after your visit. The vision care plan will then reimburse you directly.

  • We offer competitive packages that are often times priced lower than what your out-of-pocket costs would be if you used your in-network plan elsewhere.

We are happy to answer any further questions that you may have about your benefits. Please contact our billing specialist at 231-723-9911.

See the good.
